Wrapping Up the Season

So I think it is pretty much established that I am a big baseball fan.  I love watching my boys play.  I love the time we spend together as a family.  I love being outside in the warm weather,  Diet Coke,  gummy cola bottles and dill pickle seeds.  I can't picture my life any other way.  The past few months have been FILLED with lots and lots of baseball and it is a little bitter sweet that is has now come to an end. First, let me bring you up to date.  Following Douglas' super fun Memorial Day tournament win his team called it quits for the boys to split up and go to their various high schools.  One season was not enough with that group of boys and the amazing coaches we had but I am so glad we got the opportunity to play with them for the time we did.  There are so many awesome people out there.  I am amazed when I think back on the past 6 years that Douglas has played super league and the friends we have made for life.  Eve...

So Pleased

June 29th was the day we held Douglas' Eagle Scout Court of Honor.  His official Eagle date is April 22nd when he had his board of review.  Douglas has always loved scouting and the adventures involved and even when it came time to buckle down and finish up, he worked hard and had a great attitude about it.  This was truly his award... with a little nudging from his parents:). Selecting his project was a little difficult.  He searched lists of ideas online but just couldn't come up with the perfect one.  He knew he wanted to do something with sports but wasn't keen on painting bleachers or cleaning up ball fields.  So, after a lot of effort we found a place called Sportsgift.  They are located in California and accept equipment of all kinds to give kids the opportunity to play sports that may not be able to afford it on their own.  Some of the equipment stays in the US but a lot of it is shipped worldwide.  Douglas feel in love with this con...
